Cook up a camping treat

Whether you are camping, using a barbecue or at home in your kitchen, join Shiny Kitchen’s chef Zoe and make either a sweet treat of yummy chocolate stuffed doughballs or go savoury and have a go at some delicious salmon parcels. Get cooking!

What You'll Need

Chocolate doughballs

You’ll need:

12 heaped tablespoons of self-raising flour 

6 tablespoons of plain yoghurt (a little more may be needed)

A bar of dark chocolate

Large mixing bowl

Baking tray (line with greaseproof paper)

*Foil (if cooking on a fire, BBQ)

 

Salmon parcels

2 salmon pieces (double quantities if cooking 4 parcels)

1 pepper

½ onion

2 lemon slices

Salt and pepper to season

A small pot of water

Chopping board

Knife

Baking paper (parchment)

Baking tray (if cooking in an oven)

Foil (if cooking on a fire/BBQ)

Chocolate Doughballs

This recipe is great for cooking in an oven or in the embers of a fire, BBQ.

Cook in a pre-heated oven at 180′ electric oven, 160′ fan oven or gas mark 4. Cook for approx. 12-14 minutes on the top shelf.

*If cooking outdoors – double wrap the doughballs in foil and cook in the embers for 7-8 minutes.

The doughballs are best eaten warm. Makes 8-14 doughballs.

Salmon parcels

For oven cooking – once prepared, place your parcels on to a baking tray and cook in a pre-heated oven at 180′ fan oven / gas mark 6 for 15-20 minutes until your salmon is fully cooked in the middle.

For open fire/BBQ cooking – once prepared and wrapped in baking paper, cover parcel in foil, folding foil in the same way. Cook on a fire grid or in the embers for 15-20 minutes until your salmon is fully cooked in the middle.
